Have you downloaded some software related to GW? Some farming bots or what-so-ever?

its sad that someone was lasy enough (ok, sometimes im sure it takes *some* effort to get into a persons account) to just clean you out like that, but you should also keep a lookout for anyone that you know in real life that *suddenly* has somethng that looks a lot like what you just had, or is apparently flush now when they were just lately befor this happening, as poor as a churchmouse.
if you comp was clean, no spyware, trojans or viruses....no downloaded items, no websites visited that claim to have hax for GW.....
*and btw...wheter a site *claims* to have a hak that will make you Uber, give you infinite gold or whatever they are peddling, its 99.9% likely that a site like that is ether preping you for a account steal or just janking your chain....JUST DONT BITE ^-^*
you should regualrly from now on, change the password...and no using your standard stuff.....make it someithng you definately wouldnt ever use....like if your a startrek fanatic, but hate B5, use sometihng from that....i mean, if everyone knows what your into, it can be waaay to tempting to some folks if they worked out yer password from the things you like....

Basically you had to have downloaded either a virus or a keylogger in order for your account to get stolen.
If you refuse to admit this, it could be maybe that you're password was easy to guess and that someone knows your email address that you set up for the account name.

raab, just cause you say you havent dl anyhting dosent mean you are lying, or wont admit to having a gredy mate..
i knew, whithout even being asked, one of my best friends pin codes, back before they were compulsory.....but then again, he was a compleat Trek-Head, and how stupid do you have to be to have the pin 1701?
*course by now, he has hopefully chaned it to something more difficult.....it was 6 or so years ago now, and i doubt he was dumb enough to still be using that...probably found some ship he liked and is using THAT reg number ^^...so, a warning to you trekkies...no enterprise or voyager passwords/PIN numbers ^^ hehe*
all it takes is a friend in real life that plays the game, knows how you think and gets a bit....tempted and you might find that often happens more than they care to admit....it not usually so bad, most times its just a singel item, unless you fall out, then its the whole hog.
i remember years ago, back when i used to play Soma, they used to strip you to your undies, clear out your stash, your guild stash if you were leader, PK till you were devil (the lowest your moral status could go, which meant that anyone could attack you and you were insta-thwacked by guards on getting too close to towns) and would even insult random players with your account and character.....and that was a p2play game...*shudder*
i guess its more a worry that your friends arent as trustworthy as you might think....
i can usually guess my best friends passwords, but i wouldnt bother logging in with theri char, even if i was curious as to what stuff they have....i can instead, just ask them ^^
i guess, if they wanted me to keep their char updated, i could log in for them, you know, on games that have 6month usage or whipe clauses, but they would have to ASK me to do it befor i would, unless they went into long-stay hospital...kinda mute on GW though, since i would have to do it from their pc to keep updated with the game lol.
